Product Description:
When installing an auxiliary braking system, a brake light relay is often essential.
This device is required in most towed vehicles so that the brake lights and turn signals light up simultaneously with the tow vehicle, as per regulation.
The relay prevents the brake lights of the towed vehicle from functioning until the engine is started, thus avoiding the brake signal from overshadowing the turn signal of the tow vehicle.
Without this relay, the brake lights and turn signals would operate independently, but the brake signal could cancel out the turn signal, making maneuvers dangerous for following drivers.
